Yes, it’s true! at the Harewood hill climb on Sunday 6th June, despite the rain that seemed to fall all day. we managed a 4th place, winning silverware! The Morgan entrants totalled about 16, the more nimble 4/4’s taking the honours, as the track was just too slippy for the more powerful +8s: (that and we are better drivers!) Best bit of the day: being able to drive home without being rescued! Thanks to the New Elms team for getting the car ready in time. Next sprint: at Aintree at the end of the month. Pray for sunshine!

** Not silverware: a nice engraved tumbler. Cheers!

I was taken out for a surprise dinner last night, and after the meal, this birthday cake was ceremoniously brought in! Pictured is me, and behind: Chris Walker, who sculpted the cake, bales and cone!

Yes, it is a significant birthday, with a zero! On my actual birthday in April, Jane is singing with her choir in the Basilica, Venice; another birthday treat!

This weekend sees the Annual Morgan Sports Car Club Awards Dinner, where various shiny* pots are handed out to those who have driven fastest, most carefully, or polished their cars the most. In previous years, when the diners sat down to the gala meal, the names of all the awardees have been printed on the menu cards: this year, the names have purposely been omitted, to add excitement to the occasion. Now, as Awards Officer, and the one who announces the winners, how long should the pause be between naming the trophy, and……………….announcing the lucky winner?
