Welcome to the first Newsletter of the new Tormogger year. The new plan for supreme efficiency will be to keep adding to the newsletter, and publish it on the Tormogger pages of www.unstonegreen.co.uk. This way, if you spend time browsing around the interweb, drop in to e-t-mog occasionally. Likewise, if you see something on the interweb that you want to share with us, just let me know, and I will publish the link. At the end of each month, I will print the whole issue, and post it to those Tormoggers who are not internet enabled. Happy all round? You betcha!

Peter Farley has told me about a pal of his, Peter Harrison, who owns Asbury Meadow Garden centre. If anyone is interested, he will lay on afternoon tea for 6 – 8 cars, and I assume, their occupants, from June onwards, on a Saturday or Sunday. Contact him for more details.
He also tells me that on 19th May, Oulton Park will have quite a few Mogs racing there, check the MSCC website for more details., and, while he was paying for the phone call, added that at Chatsworth, towards the end of September, will be an event that could be of interest to us, the website here is www.therallyshow.org
Stars in their cars.
As Well, I am extremely proud to announce that we are all stars this month! The High Peak Centre was awarded the prestigious “Success d’Estime Award†at the Club’s Annual bash in March. And it is down to us all! Not only are we the Organisers of the Speed Series, but also have the Speed Series Administration Team. Not only do we have Brian Lee as the new MSCC Chairman, but also me, Richard Smith, as Awards Secretary. That, along with the events we host and take part in, our members involvement in other centres events, the huge number of Tormoggers taking part in National events, has caused Tormog to catch the eyes of those who hand out the pots! So well done, all of us!
The stars in their cars are now ready for the new season. 2006 was a highly successful year for the Tormogger Team. Simon Baines is again the MSCC Champion, Tim Hill the best in a Push Rod Ford 4/4, Richard Smith takes the Powertorque Trophy for the best CVH, Jane Hill wins the Most Outstanding Push rod, and holding everyone else up: John Stephens takes the Nil Desperandum trophy.
The “blame John Stephens†column!
Erm, yes: I have something! The Curborough Trials, better known as the MSCC Sprint Taster day, which developed into a whole weekend in March. Johnnie bought along his daughter Elizabeth. Watch out, all you sprinters, this is one spirited lady, who will take the tracks by storm, if dad allows her into his Mog again, after she spun around Curborough! She is definitely her father’s daughter: and John must rate as one of our top drivers. If Lizzie proves to be half as good as Dad, she will soon bring trophies home! And she is an accountant!

Wanted: Articles for the newsletter.
Tormoggers are not very good at submitting these. Because of this, I can’t publish this rag every month, and the next issue will again have to wait until I have something new to say. Give me a call. Tell me what you did at work today, tell us all about your aches and pains, tell me if you have cleaned your car today, or checked your tyre pressures.

ARLEY HORSE TRIALS AND COUNTRY FAIR-SATURDAY 26th MAY 2007
The High Peak and Norcemog Centre have been invited to put on a static display of Morgan’s, past and present at this year’s Arley Horse Trials and Country Fair, which is due to be held on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May 2007, in the grounds of Arley Estate, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 6NA.
This is an annual event and I’m sure that many amongst us will enjoy the thrilling spectacle of Eventing and share in the celebration of all that rural life has to offer as portrayed at the Country fair, including demonstrations of falconry, carriage driving and angling. You can also try your hand at clay shooting and laser clays, or taste your way through the Homemade Produce tent.
On this, our first attendance to this event, Morgan’s will be displayed on Saturday 26th May, the first day of the two day programme. Displaying your Morgan will get you, and your passenger, free access to the show, which would normally cost £10.
As the public have access to the event between 10am and 5pm, the Morgan’s need to be in position prior to opening time and remain until after closing time. An early arrival would also avoid the heavy traffic expected at the event.
If you are interested and able to give a firm commitment, please complete and return the tear-off slip.
